About REQUIPCO
Comfort isn't a luxury.
It's being able to sleep.
We sell climate equipment for American homes — cooling for the weeks when the night never cools off, heat for the rooms that never warm up. All of it without an installer.
Our story
Why we do this differently
No brand story dressed up in nice words. Just the reason we exist and how we decide what to sell.
Test seasonThe start
Two seasons, the same problem
In summer nothing is in stock anymore, and in winter there's one room standing empty because you can't get it warm. Both times you end up buying something based on a product photo and a star rating.
REQUIPCO was set up to flip that purchase around: first work out what your space needs, then choose.
The selection
Tested in real homes
We buy units from several suppliers and run them for a full season in ordinary homes. A drafty pre-war house, an attic bedroom that's unlivable by four in the afternoon, a home office above an uninsulated garage.
Whatever doesn't survive that, we don't stock.
Our own stock
Delivering when it's needed
You buy climate equipment on the day you need it, not three weeks later. That's why we hold our own stock instead of ordering in per sale.
Order on a business day before 9:00 PM and it goes out that same evening.
Today
Fewer options, better ones
Our range is smaller than the big marketplaces'. That's not a shortage — that's the point.
You don't have to pick between forty near-identical units here. You only have to know how big your room is.
Four tests per unitHow we work
Four tests before anything makes the store
Most stores list whatever the supplier offers. We flip it around: a unit has to survive a full season before we put our name on it.
A good share of what we test doesn't make it. That goes back to the supplier, with an explanation why.
- The bedroom testOn its lowest setting you have to be able to sleep next to it. If you can't, the unit is out — however well it performs otherwise.
- The plug testFrom box to running in fifteen minutes, with no tools and no forty-page manual.
- The meter testWe measure real power draw across a whole season and convert it into dollars, not energy labels.
- The season testAfter weeks of daily use, does the unit still run as quietly as on day one? If not, it's out.
Our promise
What we want to be judged on
Three things we're willing to put in writing. If we don't live up to them, hold us to it.
01
We'll recommend the cheapest unit that actually works
Tell us your room dimensions and you'll get the model that fits — even if that's the entry-level one. Talking someone into oversized gear earns you one bigger sale and then an unhappy customer.
02
We spell out what something can't do
An air cooler doesn't truly cool a room down, and electric heating isn't always cheaper. We put that right on the product page, even though it costs us sales.
03
We take it back if you don't like it
Thirty days to change your mind, even with nothing wrong with it and even in peak season. For warranty claims we handle the exchange with the manufacturer — you don't have to chase it.
